Tony,
No one knows the feeling like we do... I lost my 19 Yo only two years ago now. Suicide crosses my mind often. I can't stand these feelings. BUT we need to hang buddy, my wife and other son needs me and I'm sure people need you too.. Love ya man...
About a month or so ago my son and I bought two new Tacomas and he happened to get a dent in his door while washing it. That is when I learned about PDR. I just can't stop reading and watching videos about it. I made a light and posted it in the "Make it yourself" forum but think I need to make a fog board too.
Name is Pete folks, I live in Florida and can't wait to get started. I need some direction on what tools to start out with for practicing and doing small stuff for friends and such

DO NOT BUY EBAY TOOLS they suck!!
take a look at dent craft and ultra dent tools i like them the best for quality a1 and blehm make really good hand tools.
if your just starting out the first tool you should get is a double bend interchangeable tip one 24 inch and one 36 inch with a few tips, B1, R2, R4, R8 from dent craft tools. changeable tip tools are the most versatile different dents require different tips sharp dent sharp tip shallow dent more blunt tip
i think you will be best off buying tools from a few different quality manufacturers than buying a set. i will say the first step is to get a quality light preferably an led hammer and a few tap downs are a must also.
welcome aboard

Dear Pete, Sorry that you lost one of your children also. You are right mate about the rest of our family needing us. Love to you and your family also.
Would like to help you with the tool selection but i am in the same boat as you just starting out,so will sit back and read and take-in what is suggested.
I was able to get a practice hood and also a rear door, and my second son has built me a hood stand. Still need to sort out a light, would like to build a LED one, but need more info on what leds to look for.
Also if anybody can help the bracing under my practice hood has come away, the glue has given out, will this affect my practice as it seems a little wobbly?
Tony

Chain rings I use them all over to get leverage. I got about 4-5 all different lengths.
As far as the bracing I think it will make it a little harder on you if the panel dosent have tention. Stop by a few body shops they will give you scrap panels for free. Your going to want 3-4 practice hoods if your really practicing your goIng to blow through them fast.

Streetrod, Do you use the chain/rings all around the car too or mostly hood and trunk type of areas? Thank you Pete HA Ha Oops, I see where you said you use them (all over) but wasn't sure if you meant (all over the hood) or all over the car!
