I just wanted to welcome all my new fellow members. As you may have guessed this site was hijacked and many of the past post's were deleted.....thus a lot of blank threads. So......This is an exciting time to be part of a very well ran forum on PDR. As you will soon find out, this is a forum where you can find helpful information on the science of PDR. It is also a forum without the rank of any hierarchy. We are all equal here. Although some of us have grown to know each other, We are not an exclusive "boy's club." We welcome new members, and you are more than welcome to start a thread or ask questions. A good way to join this community is to introduce yourself. Just a brief intro with a name, location, and anything else you feel like telling us about yourself---OK ? I'll start....I'm Bob -56 years old- hoping to start a second career after retiring as a professional fire fighter -struggled with trying to teach myself PDR before coming here - Former auto body man - Now a member of the first online training class - Live in the Omaha Nebraska area. That's it- Again WELCOME TO ALL NEW MEMBERS - Feel free to post your own intros as a reply to this thread.

I'm Marc, 45 years old. Live in NJ with my loving wife and 2 wonderful kids 11 and 13. Had my own Detailing business for 10 years. Wet sanding, buffing and shampooing rugs took its toll on me, so I switched gears and started an Advertising business with my wife in 2004. All the while, working on cars was missed. We did very well until the economy took a dump in 2008. I said, what could I do that wasn't as labor intensive, make some money and still be around cars.
Which brought me to PDR. Was always intrigued by the process. When I had my detail shop, one of my accounts used to send a PDR guy over to remove some dents, before the car was detailed and went to auction. So I used to watch him, needless to say this guy used to make $75-100 for a 1/2 hour worth of work and sometimes under a 1/2 hour. I used to say, damn I get paid $80 for a 2+ hour detail.
So, the short term goal for me is to learn PDR, with a focus on retail, keep the Advertising business because it provides a decent income and my wife can handle 50-60% of it, eventually acquire some dealer accounts and go from there....

I'm Koos , 58 years old , live near Upington - South Africa .( me and my wife ) Got 2 children , a son and a daugter and 4 grand children . I worked for a telefone company for 33 years as a technician . Early retire from work . Got a windshield repair bussiness for 4 and a half years - add headlight retoration about 2 years ago . I tried to learn PDR from the youtube video's for about 18 months now , I was going more for the glue pull because I see I will not master the rods on my own . Then last December I locked into the forum and saw that Keith will give online training . For the first time in my life I make a post on a forum . Thanks to Keith for giving me the change to learn this art now in the correct way . Thanks to all my team mates in the Mag 7 Class for your inspirational words , information , and help . Thank you. Koos

My name is Jason, I live in NW Iowa. I have been into working on cars my entire life, done some restoration work, built a kit car, and done some dent and collision repair over the years. Currently I own and operate a one truck trucking business. Getting tired of being gone from home. So I started to think of ways to make a good living running a business from home. I am to much of an entrepreneur to work for anybody. Started doing alot of research on home based businesses, to no avail I could not find anything that I could see me be happy at. Until I came across pdr. So, here I am trying to gain as much knowledge as I possibly can.

Welcome Jason - You are in the right place to learn this skill, and at a very affordable price. Also you will be learning it the right way by training with Keith. - This is not an easy skill to master, but has great rewards to those who do.

Hi guys, My name is Tony (57 yo) and I live in Australia. It has always been a passion of mine working on motor vehicles and motor bikes ever since I was 17 (wow just realised my age ) but have no formal training in anything, just self taught. ( if it has moving parts I like to know what makes it work). About 10 years ago I lost my eldest son after he was hit by a out of control car while walking on the footpath he was only 19. I have been a basket case ever since, and unable to work. I have been interested PDR for a while, and really would like to learn this art. I have plenty of time on my hands so learning will not be a time problem. I do not know if any of you guys have ever had that feeling, that because you can't work that people think you are a loser and not good for anything. I wish to learn the art of pdr, so I feel like I am not useless and that I can exceed and be able to climb out of this dark hole I have been in for so long. Cheers guys, Tony

Hi everyone! Im Brett, Im 33 and I too live in Australia ^ same as mrwolf In little ol Adelaide. My wife is 32 weeks pregnant with our first child whom is a girl, Its so exciting! I started Detailing Cars when I was 16 and opened my own business when I was 22 and employed 14 people of all ages spread over 2 locations. After 5 years Id had enough and wanted to learn sales so I sold cars, computers, wheels and tyres including managing a couple of stores too before heading to the mines for a year. I saved my dollars and cents and eventually found a decent 2nd hand tool kit with light and stand, I then purchased some training dvd's and tried that before travelling interstate and got some training and have been practicing for a few months now. I started a mobile car cleaning business and have been doing dents when Im not busy, Ive even done a few small jobs and been paid. I have recently purchased some training from Keith online using some videos and have been extremely impressed with the presentation and information supplied, as well as how Keith's teaching style breaks it down into a language that i can understand easily and replicate what he is showing me into results on my practice bonnet (hood) Great group of helpful and knowledgable cheers Brett

Hi Brett, I went to school in Broken Hill and after that worked in the mines for a number of years, before moving to the Gold Coast. I spent many enjoyable long weekends and holidays in Adelaide in my younger years.

Hi all! Not really a new member but thought I'd introduce myself to you. I'm Wally I live in Missouri and been working as a collision tech for the past 15 years. I picked up some Pdr tools about 6 years ago and have been doing hail repair for the shop and some small dents here and there. I also do hail and other dents for another shop in town after hours. This is a great forum with lots of good people here.

Welcome Brett and Tony and thanks for the introductions As you read the many posts here you'll notice that not only does this forum supply an abundance of educational material, it also acts as a social network and support group to those trying to master PDR and improve their skills. Tony, we are about the same age - my heart goes out to you for the loss of your son, and I believe if I were in your shoes I would have been affected the same way. You referred to PDR as an art - that is a very accurate comparison. Just approach it in the same manner. It's easier to learn if you are patient and don't get frustrated by wanting to excel too fast. Keith is a Rembrandt...... we start out as kids with crayons.....the more we push the better we get.....some progress faster than others. It's easy to give up and throw in the towel - but keep your chin up, you've got some good guys in your corner. WELCOME ABOARD GUYS ! Bob
