I am looking at getting into PDR and have some questions concerning tools. I have experiance working with metal, been doing alot of research on the web, love working on cars and I know that I can do this and be very successful. I believe there is a huge market for this in my area. So with that aside here are my questions.
1. I see there are various types of materials these tools are made out of. Which material is the best and why?
2. Which types of tools are never needed and a waste of money?
3. What are the brands that you guys would recommend?
4. Where is the best place(s) to buy these tools?
I don't mind spending money for good quality tools, but I do have a limited amount of resources. I don't need the best that money can buy, but I want something that is going to last and give me excellent results. Also if you have any more answers to questions that I forgot to ask please feel free. Thank You. Jason

ok a few tool co.
ultra dent
pdr finness
blehm
a1 tools
dentcraft
dent gear
i don't think you can go though one company and get everything you need each one has certin tools that will make your life easyer
i will say the best tool you can get is good trainning(your in the right spot to find it) once you know how to push dents the tool selection will be more obvious every tech out there has there own personal preferance.

Jason,
welcome by the way.
I have 95% Ultradent tools in my toolcase. A few dentcraft. I cannot speak about some of the other companies Chad mentioned. Ultradent has some really nice products they are expensive though.
I had a lonetime PDR guy tell me when I first was interested in pdr buy Ultradent, he wished he would have instead of Dentcraft. So that's what I did. I started slow buying what I could afford.
hope this helps
Kirk

Jason , Do yourself a huge favor and avoid buying any tools off of EBAY. Although it is cheaper to buy a set than individual tools, many tools in a set are seldom used. I am buying mine like Kirk did - slowly as I need them and as I can afford them. I really like the Dentcraft rods and wire tools. I just purchased my first PDR Finesse door tool and absolutely love it. In this trade, tools DO make the man. Take your time and buy the best you can afford - you won't regret it.
