Your not going to find a do all set. Different company's make different tools some much better than others. Start off with training from Keith to get you going on the right track. And for tools a 24 and 36 inch double bend changeable tip tools, hand tool set from blehm or a1 , and most important a good led light from pro Pdr solutions

Welcome aboard - I wouldn't buy a starter kit - but just starting out you will soon find that tool prices add up fast. Minimum, you'll need to spend about a grand if you get quality tools - and that won't buy much. Each tech has his own favorite brand, but I 'd stick with Blehm, Dentcraft, Ultradent, or PDR Finesse.
O.K. this is what I would buy to start (I like dentcraft tools) Dentcraft RH48 ....4 foot hail rod -------109.95 BRC06 ...6 pc. brace set------139.95 WT 10 ....10 inch whale tail---61.95 PDR Finesse adjustable door tool ----150.00
Reflection board or portable pdr light 40.00 to 300.00 Window protector and door wedge 50.00 to 75.00 Chains/ S hooks/ misc 20.00 homemade hood stand 20.00 -40.00
My guess, to be fully equipped to "comfortably" be able to be tooled up enough to make a living at this would require a 4-5 grand investment at a minimum. Your best investment should be training. Hope that helps - Bob

I own some B&D tools - bought them new on ebay about 4 years ago - These tools are junk IMO...perhaps the company has made some improvements since then. What you are looking for in a rod is the temper in the metal, particularly when anchoring off an "O" ring or "S" hook. If the tool is not stiff enough it tends to flex and arch causing the tool to slide at your fulcrum point, and also it is hard for the tech to get a "feel" of the pressure that is being applied. The reason is some of the applied pressure is needed just to flex the tool. This is very precise work. Unlike conventional panel beating, with EVERY push you are finishing the dent, and when you get a dent worked up to near completion, you are pin pointing areas to mimic the surrounding orange peel in the paint.....You need to be able to "feel" the surface tension of the metal through the tool as you are pushing while looking for subtle changes within your reflection. I hope this helps - This can be an extremely frustrating trade to learn, especially on your own with only dvds. I started the same way and have watched about every dvd out there. It wasn't until I hooked up with KDP as an online student that the "light bulb" finally came on.
